A document checklist for an employer-change enquiry

Organise the residence and employment facts an authority may need without sending unrelated personal records.

Professional organising a written checklist

A useful enquiry begins with a chronology, not an attachment dump. Start with your city of registration, permit type, issue and expiry dates, current employer and role, proposed employer and role, notice date, final working day, and intended first day.

Core records

Depending on the route, relevant records may include the residence card and supplementary sheet, current contract, new contract or binding offer, job description, employer declaration, qualification evidence, and recent authority correspondence. Check the local authority’s published list because forms and submission channels differ.

Remove noise, retain context

Do not include bank statements, medical records, family documents, or full passport copies unless they are requested and relevant to the procedure. Name files consistently and ensure scans are readable. If a record has several pages, preserve the sequence.

End with the question

State whether you are notifying a change, requesting confirmation, or asking what approval is needed before beginning. Include a reliable email address and retain a copy of the submission and receipt.
